"In a world of Americanized Mexican restaurants, it's rare to strike authentic south -of-the-border cuisine. That, of course, is what makes Hermanos so very special. Here, surrounded by Aztec murals and paraphernalia, you discover hefty burritos, enchiladas, quesadillas and tostadas, served with verve and panache. The specials are interesting, too -try the carne estufa (spicy stew), Mexican pizza and taco pastor (soft-shelled tacos stuffed and wrapped in grilled corn tortillas). Enjoy live jazz in the lounge five nights a week."

- Hidden New England

"Just off of Main St in an unlikely historic brick building, Hermanos serves authentic and creative Mexican dishes from pork taquitos to chimichangas. Head to the upstairs bar for excellent margaritas and catch some live jazz."

"This Mexican restaurant has gotten high ratings for its authenticity and incredible margaritas for years. Now it’s moved into expanded quarters with several dining rooms and frequent musical entertainment."

- New Hampshire: An Explorers Guide

"The restaurant has simple decor with an Aztec flavor. The extensive menu includes traditional Mexican favorites, some with a slightly different twist. Live jazz is played five nights a week in the lounge. Parking before 6 p.m. is metered. Don't miss the strawberry burrito for dessert."

- Maine, New Hampshire & Vermont Tour Book

"Perhaps because winters are so long and cold up here, Concord claims one of New England's best Mexican restaurants. At Hermanos Cocina Mexicana,...You can dream of being south-of-the-border when the windchill factor brings temperatures down to double digit figures below zero."

- Berlitz Travel Guide

"Ironic isn't it, that in the heart of the meat-and-potatoes country a Mexican restaurant would be consistently considered the best in town? Here is authentic Mexican food doled out by owner Jane Valliere in sleek, subdued Mexican surroundings. After eleven years in rather funky quarters, Hermanos tripled in size with a 1995 move into a larger space with two downstairs dining rooms and an upstairs lounge. The margaritas are made with fresh lemons and limes and the Mexican beers come with a wedge of lime. Chips, crispy as could be, accompanied salsas described as "mild" (red) and "hot" (green), both of which left one of us gasping for water. The taco pastor with chicken and the enchilito with chicken, vegetables, and yogurt made an exceptional lunch, ending with a marvelous frozen kahlua pie - like a mousse on a graham-cracker crust. Banana chimichangas and fruit burritos are other good desserts. The taquito is a spiced pork concoction in a deep fried corn tortilla. Quite a variety of tequila and Mexican beers are offered. Live jazz is played Sunday-Thursday in the upstairs lounge, where the full menu is available. On weekends, the lounge is quiet (musically) and offers a bar menu. And hallelujah, the entire establishment is smoke-free and cell phone-free."
